Pulmonary Center of Excellence

Chronic lung diseases are common and deadly. Unfortunately, the treatment options for patients with advanced forms of lung disease are few due to the lack of research and knowledge regarding the basic cellular and molecular mechanisms that lead to disease progression.

Here at UTHealth we have outstanding physicians who provide patients with lung disease the best care possible. In addition, we have world leading scientists who are conducting discovery and translational research to increase our knowledge of lung disease with the goal of identifying novel therapies for its treatment.

The imperative of the UTHealth Pulmonary Center of Excellence is to bring together our outstanding scientists and physicians in a manner that will promote interactions and opportunities to enhance the pace by which our discoveries are translated into therapies for lung disease. We are fortunate to have the support of our leadership and the community on this important endeavor, and we invite you to get involved with our cause.
